Man, I was on Actor Laurence Fishburne's website tonight as I am watching him on CSI - Vegas babies. I found this thought from him about stardom so damned fitting to my thought's of the celebrated life of anyone:
"IT'S ONE OF THE CHALLENGES of being a very well known person: You get praise and attention from strangers and it makes you susceptible to believing that you're the greatest thing since sliced fish. But at the beginning and end of the day, you are a human being, a child of God with faults and weaknesses. We live in a society that's obsessed with celebrity. The trap is believing it. You have to practice to remain humble and grounded, to remain human, which is why I do my own grocery shopping. People come up to me in supermarkets and say, "Hey you are like the greatest," and I say "Thanks," and go do my shopping. I don't need to feel like a big deal."

Stardom
Free $25 gift card for a prescription transfer

I love ish like that too. I only have one measly prescrip and I have moved it from Walgreen's to CVS for a $25 GC, from CVS to Rite Aid for $30 GC and I'm about to move it, again, from RA to Giant for a $25 GC. $80 in a year free? Who can beat that. Sadly, they don't let you use the GC towards the prescrip you need to fill and pickup - right then. NOT SO SADLY... I can get $25 more ish that I need that I did not have the $25 in cash for anyhow!! WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! Giant has lots of stuff to choose from. YAY ME if it goes thru. :p
Next bargain...?? Who knows....

Shaggy & Friends Benefit

My favorite person in Reggae music is well known to all as Recording Artist Shaggy. Being friends with the International Artist for over 7 years, I can say he's a decent man with a huge heart. And for as long as Shaggy's Studio.com has been online and before, Mr. Burrell has been supporting the Sir Alexander Bustamante Hospital in Jamaica. It is "the only pediatric hospital in the English speaking Caribbean, but here in Jamaica, it’s the only pediatric hospital which offers specialized health services for children". He, along with many many others, have been providing much needed equipment such as ventilators, surgical supplies and even went as far as replanting the hospital's greenery surrounding the facility. There is a huge benefit concert on January 3, 2009. Here's the PSA for it and a mini commercial follows. If you would like to get involved, please go here - http://www.shaggyfoundation.org for all the details. You can also contact me and I will forward information upstream. Supporters of Shaggy and myself have been involved with these efforts for about 4 years now. Won't you contribute too?

Almostest Free
Yeah, I created a new word and I'm damn proud of it. So, as you can tell I'm stockpiling (getting loads of one product for future use) and it's Sure deodorant right now. I have a total of 5... yes, FIVE - including the one I'm using. TMI I know but today I went to Walgreen's and there's were 2/$5. I had a $1.50 coupon for each out of the Walgreen's lil book and then 2 $1 coupons printed online. All I had to pay was .30 tax for the 2 3.2 bonus size bottles. Sounds good, eh? Then I picked up another A&H Laundry detergent for .99. They normally charge $6.99 for 1 64oz and right now they have a 4 day sale on it for $1.99. I was Armed and I Hammered down a $1 from A&H website and whallah!!
I feel so good when I can get good bargins like this. Plus, I also picked up 3/.99 each mini First Aid kits out of CVS. I had a buy 2 for $3 coupon which gave me them free. YEAH ME!! Now here's the best one of all and with heaps of thanks to MSM's Blog for every single savings, no doubt. Safeway has a Kelloggs sale right now and if you buy 5 select varieties, they'll increase your discount to $5 off the total of the five boxes. So here's how it went down. I picked up 5 boxes and head to the counter. She rings them and after coupons and some bonus markdowns I found, the total was a wee high. So, I go over and proceed to figure out what went wrong. I see I purhcased one cereal at $4.99 which was 17oz box and not a 12oz. Then I see the Sugar Pops - MY OTHER FAVORITE CEREAL - was not apart of the 5/$5 off promotion. So I had Mr. J void that cereal transaction and start fresh all over again. So, he gives me back almost $15, re-rings the right cereals and I, when all said and done, hand him $2.45 for 5 boxes of cereal. How? Safeway's Kelloggs sale is from $2.29 (Rice Krispies, Corn & Frosted Flakes - I think) to $2.79. I had 5/$1 coupons printed from online - $1 for each box. Don't forget that $5 deal and there you go.
Some Safeway's do not accept internet printable coupons, so call PRIOR to using. But, can you imagine walking out of any chain store with 5 boxes of cereal for $2.45? I bragged to every, even the cashier who originally rang me up, the store person who re-rang my stuff plus Mom's. I am so thrifty. Or is that frugal?? Off to MSM's to see what she has next...

'Internet Dating' (The Movie) On DVD
Lonely and looking for some action, Mikey (Katt Williams) creates an internet dating profile, describing himself as a 7 foot tall Lakers player. The ladies love him online, but they get a rude awakening when a 5 foot tall, broke, burger flipping, bicycle riding Mikey shows up at their front doors. And are the girls anything like they say they are? All he wanted was to meet the right girl. What he got was an online roller coaster.

What did I get FREE today??
Well I FINALLLLLLLLY got my dang blasted for cryin' out loud friggin 'It's Pimpin' Pimpin' DVD today. Them fools over at that darned Borders store was about to get knocked out if they did not have the DVD after all the phone calls I made starting at 9:30 AM this morning. The last call was around 2ish pm and I had to hold back from cussing then. Computers went down in Borders and HUMANS forgot how to actually go LOOK on the shelf for the dang blasted thing. I saw dude when someone else called in and all he did was skim they area, pull out ONE or TWO things and went back and told the person on the line the EXACT same thing he said to me. I knew it was him as he was saying "I looked n the shelf.... and our computers are down....". I just rolled my eyes and waited my turn to get my stuff and leave. I was already told by Borders.com that if they told me it was NOT in that store to not argue but leave and call them promptly. Well dude that waits on me says "it was out in the mailbox and I hung up before he could come back". So I say, "dude, you never told me to hold on. You said you checked the box and it was not there... hello??" And of course he tries to be all apologetic but I was not having it. I just let him finish getting thru with me and I left quick nuff you can beleive that.
Don't get me wrong, I am grateful but for the crap the store put me thru, the PO and the .com people too... lesson learned on free stuff from them. Bet somebody was trying to cop my ish b/c everybody I talked to except one person from online resources to store peeps kept telling me how much they LOVED them some Katt when they heard/saw the title. Uhhhhh huuuuuuh.
Off to watch!!
Oh wait, I picked up some Sure deodorant for .49. I kinda went a day before the sale day as it was $2.99 not $2.50 as I had read here. But, I had both coupons, one form the in-store lil booklet that she mentions plus the printed one from the same site and it was OOOOON!! Hey .49 not generic brand deodorant is good for me too.

Freeebies... not actually FREE
Here's a re-cap, re-post of my Free adventure today:
I went to CVS for the Maybelline lip products and did get a B1G1 free deal but the cheapest was the lip gloss in a tube. Coupon for $4.00 only took it down to 2 for $2.14 with tax. Still cheap as they are $5.79 EACH w/o tax.
Rayovac Batteries - I picked these up today (2pk AA alkaline) for .06, the tax. Normally sells for $1 per pack plus tax.
An Air Wick Lumin' Air product was almost free. I had a really crazy experience as when she rang it up in Target, the register told her it would be "below a zero total" and it would not allow her to proceed. I was like WTH?? Then she did the Rayovac batteries which did take but I had to pay .06 tax. Fine, better than $1. She then did the Airwick once again and tells me I cannot use the coupon. I ask her isn't there an override and/or an option to type in $4.99 coupon. (I've been in customer service/cashiering for over 20 years) She tells me no. HUH??
So this other cashier comes over and said she rang 2 up and then did ok. Come to find out later on, her 2 were for free products not discounted items. So, after 20 mins this lady who acts in charge comes over and does the transaction again. She gets the same coded error and tells me I can't use the coupon because it is more than the item. HUH? I said the same thing about the override and/or manually telling the cash register gone mad that the coupon is $4.99. She tells me if I do that then you have to pay the tax. DUUUUUUUUH? I said can I take this to Customer Service. No, they are going to call me. WOW and this is my last resort I think. So I say just let me get the product and I'll pay the tax on it. 30 mins later I walk out the door with an almost just about kinda sorta free item for 30something cents.
I called a neighbor to tell her this story as I had asked for her coupon earlier in the day. I might rethink this now.
And in other Freebie news, one day I found a Pizza Hut Gift card. I called the 800# on the back and it had $8 left on it. YAY for me and my FREE (personal pan) 3 topping pizza plus soda wouldn't you say??
Plus, I find $$ all the time. I found $20 soaked in gasoline, where else... the gas station, $10 folded on Food Lion's lot, almost a buck in change on Red Lobster's walkway and oodles of change amounts here and there. I found reading glasses and a cell phone case recently. What next?? And yes, I do look down when I walk. :p
Jervis Made A Graphic 4 MEEEEEE!!

Is that the cutest thing you ever saw? Awwww geeeeeeee Chris!! (sniffsniff and she reaches for him and gives him a TIGHT breathtaking HUG)
