You ever been there? You have a heap of things to say and then... nothing or you become uncertain in how what you say will turn out?? I've been put in that predicament since April and I'm not usually this verbally closed in. I USUALLY say what's on my mind and go from there. I do have a sensitivity to alienating and/or hurting people's feelings but this is much different. I'm being put in a competitive "you don't know knowing" situation from someone who SHOULD be educating. Let me say that this year is going down as the quietest year ever for me. I mean, I'm the one who calls the coupon senders and fusses about receiving a coupon that expires 4-5 days from when I received it. So for me to get in to this battle of the one sex type crap I'm being lured into, I'll sit back and let my actions do all the speaking. I'm being told I need to stand my ground and make people respect me and maybe it's true.
I've always been an actions girl so words roll of my back... normally. But this year, I had a rude awakening on just how far people will go to continue to put you down when they are down themselves. Misery loves company and I guess I'm not showing them any so they have no were to run nor hide. I decided to do more listening this year and damned if I did not hear more than I eve would in 26+ years. WOW!! And when you hold people in high regard and they fall from grace... what do you do? What happens when you go behind the curtains to see what's really been hiding all that time?? WOW!! As I always say, GOD give you no more than you can handle. Sadly, I can't change my lost feelings for those I once had deeper feelings for. I see now that folks will do loads of things to cover their own azzes while making more of an azz of themselves. When it's the people you think are close to you is when it hits lie a brick.
Thank you GOD for keeping my mouth closed, my brain in tact and my strength stronger than any rock you made. Most importunately, thank you GOD for keeping my heart safe and me nearer to YOU!!

Good Samaritans DO Exist
My rim decided it wanted to see some tar action yesterday of all days. This isn't my tire but it looks JUST like mine did yesterday afternoon. One minute, I'm rolling along nicely with the slight wobble and the next I'm hearing some weird noise. I open the car door and look to the area where I think the sound is coming from... DRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT... the tire is just flat on the ground. I am gutted for many reasons at this point. One, my cell phone is off... (sighs) Two, I am too far from the station I want to get the tire... (sighs harder) Three, I am out of my area to call anyone... (huge sigh) Blessing in all of this - I did have some money on me for the tire - ONLY. I might add I had the receipt from the last tire purchase in the armrest and already had it in hand for more sighing purposes.
Soooooooooooooo... I try to proceed to a place that is about 3 miles and less with the rim rolling on the tire and not the ground as it so wanted to do. I stayed as much out of the traffic as I could and yet, no one stopped but every one looked you can believe that. An obviously wobbly car is normal, right?? Anyhow, I get about 2 miles in when I see a tow truck going the opposite direction. I see the brakes being applied but it keeps going. So I check to see if the rim is still not touching the ground as it is trying very hard to do. How did I do this you ask? I feel the edges of the rim and it's still smooth. Ok, ok... guys reading are going to laugh me off the planet... but hey, I was panic struck as you can seemingly see. So I proceed on when I see the tow truck behind me. Two young guys are looking at the back of my car like "she's bad off... very."
The passenger guy, kinda nice looking too, comes over and asked if I need help. I explain my situation and looks at me with loads of pity. (Thank you GOD). He then proceeds to phone someone to get some prices on my sports tire. I know the last time I purchased one, a cheapy was $80 bills. Right now, that was a STRETCH, wow... if you only knew. Normally towing starts @ $75, if I recall right and this does not include gas per mile in some cases and for some tow people. I'm praying as he explains what he can do for me. I'm choiceless and broke - not good, ya know. So, he told me the other guy needed to drop him off and he'd come take me to the place where I was trying to go. I wait in the car for what seems like forever but in truth was about 10 - 15 minutes.
TOW TRUCK IS HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERE!! I am happy and sad at the same time. I'm panicking more because I have no clue when tire places close and this being the holiday... so driver guy tells me that if I would have keep going, not only would I be getting the tire but a $300 rim. (sighs the worse kinda sigh). I explain I knew this but desperation will make one do some crazy ish and this one was not harming anyone but me and of course pissing my rim off that it couldn't get any ground time. He laughs and proceeds to do his towing job. So, up the bed car baby goes and off to the tire place they called. Turns out this guy felt even sorrier for me and reduced my out of pocket to him. I was soooooooooooooo thankful and was telling GOD how great of a force the entity is. We get to the place which was just above the last place I purchased a tire. Guess what? The price I paid a year ago at Goodyear was the same price I got this tire for 1 year and 9 months later - within cents!! Amazing.
So I personally want to thank Tom and Aaron who were Grand Samaritans if you ask me. I took their card as I plan to make it up to them whenever I can. It's not often you see people doing good deeds from the kindness of the hearts when it comes to their bread and butter. It's business as usual and I am blessed their business was making me safe that day. Thank you so much G.....'s Towing!!
Rest Peacefully Eartha Kitt

This is how I remember her as a child and how she was such the seductress. My adopted Mother tried to emulate every thing she was. Key word - tried. Gone is the woman who I will never forget hearing that she embarrassed the First Lady as she stood her ground against war when it was one of the worst things besides being a color that a person of color could do. Kudos to you Ms Eartha!!

Happy Holidays... REALLY!!
While in the ER waiting room the other night, I had a chance to see why Seth McFarlene has lost me for life. I was a semi huge supporter of Family Guy until it got very annoying. There's another show that annoys me if only for a few seconds - American Dad?!?!? HUH?? The piece I got while ER people muddled about seeking relief from... was the Christmas episode where the "Dad" is seeking Christmas spirit. Skipping the chase and getting to the scene of what bothered me so to post, here I go. He pushes a GUN into the kid cashier's face after not getting the "Merry Christmas" response back from his "Merry Christmas" departing gesture after his store purchase. There were other things prior to this that made me despise the show but this topped it off. The show seemed to deal with offending people's belief's, religious or otherwise, in terms of those commencing from November forward to oh January. So back to the scene, security tosses "Dad" out into the snow and you hear him say "I had a gun". The gun is flung out to him now wrapped in holiday paper with bow and gleeful "Merry Christmas" is heard, seemingly from the kid cashier. I was mortified as there were a heap of children in this waiting area. I can't imagine how the wreckage of the Christmas spirit via this show will affect those lil kids while trying to heal from whatever they were in the hospital's ER for in the first place.
I mean, someone could have changed the channel (or had it changed) if they found it offensive but no one did. And as I popped in and out of the area, it made realize that our chick value has really been diminished to levels so low, it's unmeasurable I guess. Are we not appalled that the holiday spirit is so abusive and bloody even in animation?!?! (smh) At any rate, the whole idea of trying not to offend not only stops with programs of this nature but the actual concept of the show - for bad or worse. The term 'Happy Holidays' has become more acceptable because from November to January, there are a few celebrated holidays. The term seems to blanket all of them without offending a Jewish, a Christian, a African and all other people. I am happy that there is a medium that can compliment all despite me not knowing or even caring how this show ended.
So from my Blog SPOT to YOURS... I am ever blessed to have you here as a reader and/or as a thought provider. Hence, the reason for "added thought(s)" when you reply to my............... It is my sincere hope that 2008 and all it's intricacies will leave you in a better and blessed position in 2009. I look forward to seeing you in the New Year... REALLY!! (SMILES)

Persons of the Year - Drs. Vance & Vince Moss (Revisited)
The Moss brothers treat a patient in Kabul, Afghanistan.
'World News' Revisits Extraordinary People Who Are Making a Difference
Drs. Vince and Vance Moss
After hearing about the suffering of civilians in war-torn countries, these twin brothers -- both U.S. Army reservists since college -- felt compelled to act. They approached the U.S. military and State Department about a medical mission to Afghanistan to treat civilians. Their idea was rejected because of safety concerns, so the Mosses took matters into their own hands. They chartered a plane, stocked it with medical supplies, hired their own security and flew to Afghanistan -- all at their own expense. They made two trips to the country, gaining the trust of the people and providing much-needed care.
Since "World News" featured the Moss brothers in February, they have served with the Army on a three-month tour to Iraq, assigned as medics to a marine unit. Upon their return home, they arranged for the transport and life-saving surgery for several Iraqi children in the United States.
"When you look at our pictures, and you look at the eyes of the little kids, a lot of them that we treated, I think you will come to the same conclusion that we have -- it certainly was worth it," said Vance Moss.

Late Night "Shoes Thrower" Humor
I'm on About.com's Political Humor section reading the Late Night talk show host's xaps at GB, Jr. on December 15th. Here's what they said about the "Shoes Thrower" as compiled by Daniel Kurtzman.
"Well, folks, looks like we finally found something President Bush is good at. Dodgeball!" --Jay Leno
"As you know, yesterday in Iraq, President Bush was attacked by a 'shoe-icide' bomber. President Bush was speaking at a news conference in Iraq when a journalist threw two shoes at him [on screen: the video of Bush having shoes thrown at him]. You see what President Bush did? You see what he did to keep from being hit? Something he's never done before. Lean to the left. He's never done that." --Jay Leno
"You got to admit, whatever you think of the guy, he's got good reflexes. Even Bill Clinton was impressed. You know, Clinton's an expert at ducking shoes, ashtrays, lamps. Everything." --Jay Leno
"Now, here's my question, and no offense here, but where was the Secret Service? I mean, shouldn't they at least have jumped in front of the second shoe? I mean, you know what I'm saying? Come on. Seriously. Aren't these guys supposed to take a bullet for the president?" --Jay Leno
"See, that's when Bush realized he was on his way out, when the Secret Service are going, 'Yeah, we're guarding the new guy now.'" --Jay Leno
"Well, here's my favorite part. Cable news just over-thinks this. On CNN, they brought in an expert on Iraqi culture. And he said, 'Let me clarify what happened here.' He said, 'In the Arab world, throwing your shoes at someone's head is considered an insult.' Oh, really? As opposed to here in America, where it's a huge compliment." --Jay Leno
"Well, the interesting thing was the journalist who threw the shoe was immediately arrested, and then offered his own show on MSNBC." --Jay Leno
"Bush is in Baghdad, he's having a press conference, and a guy, a reporter from Iraq jumps up and starts heaving shoes at the guy. And in Iraqi, or Arabic, he starts screaming, 'Here's your farewell kiss, you dog!' That's what the guy says. I mean, it was the same goodbye I got from NBC." --David Letterman
"Right now, they're trying to find out, they arrested the guy, trying to find out if he's a Shoe-ni or a Shoe-ite. But it's the same old story. You hear this over and over again, a guy, this crazy guy, goes into a Payless store, he purchases a pair of Rockport shoes, and they didn't even do a background check on him." --David Letterman
"You've got to give Bush credit. I mean, the guy moved pretty quickly. ... Too bad he didn't react that way with bin Laden or Katrina, bin Laden or the mortgage crisis, bin Laden or Afghanistan, bin Laden or the Lehman Brothers." --David Letterman
I don't think Bush really has dodged anything like that, well, since the Vietnam War." --David Letterman
"Yesterday, at a press conference in Baghdad, an angry Iraqi threw his shoes at President Bush's head. Yeah, when he saw the shoes, President Bush said, 'See, I knew you guys had weapons of mass destruction." --Conan O'Brien
"The man who threw his shoes at President Bush is being hailed as a hero in Iraq. In fact, when he dies, he'll be greeted in heaven by 72 podiatrists." --Conan O'Brien
"Of course, the big story over the weekend is that President Bush had that press conference in Iraq, which turned into 'Shoe-pocalypse Now.'" --Craig Ferguson
"When a journalist throws his shoes at the President, if you're a late night talk show host, you go, 'Aaahhh!' Good times. It's like when Cheney shot his lawyer. You go: 'Aaaahhhh! Well, that's tonight's show taken care of.'" --Craig Ferguson
"Bush was amazing. You see how quickly Bush got out of the way? Bush has been accused of dodging issues in the past, but who knew he could actually dodge shoes?" --Craig Ferguson
"Bush is 62 years old, but he still has the reflexes of a cat. Mind you, I think his head has been on a swivel ever since Cheney shot his lawyer." --Craig Ferguson
"You know, the shoe-throwing incident has made Sarah Palin want to be president even more. 'Free shoes? You betcha!'" --Craig Ferguson
"Anyway, the conspiracy theories have begun. Oliver Stone is already making a movie about the shoe-throwing incident. He thinks there was a second shoe-thrower, because that journalist threw two shoes in four seconds. That's impossible." --Craig Ferguson
"The irony of all of this is of course that this shoe-throwing incident is as close as we'll ever get to finding weapons of mass destruction in Iraq." --Craig Ferguson
"The shoe-throwing journalist has got his supporters because today in Iraq, thousands of people took to the streets. They were all chanting in unison all day long. And do you know what they were chanting? Now I'm not making this up. They were chanting, 'Bush, Bush listen well, two shoes on your head!' Well, I think the President must be devastated by that. If John Kerry had used that chant four years ago, he would have won!" --Craig Ferguson
"What kind of chant is that? If there's an Iraqi Doctor Seuss, he must be terrible. 'One fish, two fish, seven dogs run on a lawn.'" --Craig Ferguson
"The bright side to all of this is the Iraqi economy must be going well if a guy can afford to throw a perfectly good pair of shoes. Journalists over here can't even afford a pair of flip-flops." --Craig Ferguson
"The shoe-throwing journalist is in jail. He didn't think this through, though. I mean, if you're a journalist and you're unhappy with a politician, why don't you just write something down? You're a journalist! You can even get it printed in a newspaper! Doesn't he know that the pen is mightier than the shoe?" --Craig Ferguson
Shoes Thrower - Hero or Zero?
First, let me slam down some remarks from Huffington Post's website which btw has over 7,000 comments on this:
1) Journalist pass 0 dollar. pair of shoes 25 dollars. Hurling shoes at bush, priceless. Somethings money truly can't buy. (American Express card commercial wording for those who don't get it)
2) If only we had known sooner that the President would leave the country if you threw shoes at him.
3) Please join my Shoes for George Campaign and mail one shoe to George Bush, @ The White House, Washington, D. C. to show our appreciation for all he has done for our country. Let's bury him up to his armpits in shoes! Thanks!
4) Lucky for GWB that Imelda Marcos wasn"t there
5) As a form of protest and symbolism, one must admit, it was extremely effective. Protest is not about being, nice, respectful or hospitable. People who have tried to make their point in less imaginative ways, such as taking up arms as you suggest or suicide have been much less effective about getting their point across. As symbolism, it was actually devastating to the Bush Administration PR effort.
6) In baseball, it's 3 strikes and you're out! In politics, it's 2 shoes and you're out!!
7) Looks like Bush finally found those weapons of mass destruction.
8) He should just be thankful that Doc Marten hasn't set up shop in Iraq yet.
