I survived my birthday, thank you GOD!!
Of course you can tell this as I am making a post, eh? It was a beautiful eventful (widens eyes) day. I was all over the place that day and have managed to continue to be blessed to keep it movin'. I've always been eating some pretty good food with desserts added in. Still looking for the customary celebratory drink... (HELP) Sooooooooo... since then I've been to the Ebony Fashion Fair Show in Washington, D.C. on Sunday (Oct. 12, 08). It was a rocky start and after geting bumped backwards, I still was blessed to be in the house at all. Vance & Vince (see post below) were the Masters of Ceremony and stayed for a couple hours. I managed to get a few photos that turned out pretty good. Then, to my dismay, the battery was not full enough to initialize my new CD for the camera. Ugggggggggggggggh. I left the other battery in the charger. So I missed some nice shots of beautiful outfits. Oh well.... I was glad that Maryland was represented with not only a person from Clinton, MD (my stomping grounds) but one from Waldorf, MD as well. Waldorf is right down the road - RIGHT!!!!
Nothing else has been up that I really can get into but me working as best I can. With the economic structure the way it is, I am frigtened for the people in and around my income level and below. Where are we going in these trying times?? I don't GOD even knows!?!?! It's so confusing but it feels like the makings of a Great Depression of 2008. Now the next part of the situation is that we have a person of color coming in the midst of all of this inbetween being a human being... period... despite his color. If a white person doesn't survive this mess if in office, then it would be ok. But a person of color - I beleive - will wear this forver as will our race. Sad as it may seem, this is the very real of it iin America. I feel for all people of color now because I believe we will have to live up to expectations way beyond the boundaries set.
Pray for Global Peace, pray for me and you!!

Drs. Vance & Vince Moss
"Jo" would reach across the street and just grab me right up to go somewhere. I didn't understand the impression she was trying to make on me and where she was leading me. I just went along to get out of what I thought was a wrong direction in the path I was on. Never-the-less, moving away from our hometown, she still keep in touch as best she could. Filled with anger and whatever else... I drifted too far away to realize how important she could have been. She is a member of AKA, Ebony Fashion Fair this, some organization that and is ever busy with something including the children she gave birth too as well as others who crossed her path like me. Her social skills are the epitome of a woman on the go and in the know. She's a quiet who's who in her own right no matter what "celebrated one" she may cross paths with. It was a true honor to be invited by her to the Humanitarian Award ceremony for Vince, Vance and other outstanding acts of faith having members in the vast community called Prince George's County. I'm grateful to have spent the little time I did there and will never forget where I come from. Here's some photos of the ceremony that I managed to capture with my cell phone.

My Earthday Is Thursday
Yeppers, on Thursday I celebrate the day I came to exist on this GOD's green, brown, clear, blue, whatever globe as we know it. Man, I've been here a looooong time but my great aunt was here longer than me. She managed to make 110 years in pretty decent mental health with some customary sips of Jack Daniels Black and "snuff" to assist no doubt. GOD bless and rest her soul. I hope I am able to see one more year much less getting to 110. I just pray for another mili-second to not be greedy.
And so I want to put my thanks to the Creator up and up first and foremost for life in and around itself. Thank you GAW to carrying me into this world when yours was collapsing. Thank you to all the women I've called "Mom" as the 3 of you deserve it after all you went thru to survive life and me. To my Dad, you are who you are and no one will ever change that. I love you no matter. No man will ever take your place. To all my blood family - blessings always and forever no matter the many distances between us. To the people I've met that have become closer than some of my blood relatives, without you we would have never shared a tear or 4, never laughed so hard our sides hurt as well as our faces nor realized that distance in miles means nothing when it comes to matters we care about - whatever it is/was.
So, I'm off to find all my birthday food freebies because I love to eat. I hope to speak to you again soon. If it should come to pass that it doesn't occur... know that I loved life and the embodiment of it - I & I 4 I.
(can't tell you what that stands for or I'd have to marry ya.
:P)
My epitaph will be far more briefer than this message:
She Lived, She Loved, She Left
Bless you all,
DI
